Description

This is a very similar formula to the Rosy Days Facial Oil for Rosacea, only it contains a couple of extra natural ingredients to give it some extra healing, soothing and hydration benefits to get the most calming rejuvenation out of each night’s sleep. It is a slightly heavier formula that has let my skin recover overnight from harsh winter days and from summer heat and sun exposure. All this while being non-comedogenic (doesn’t clog pores) and without causing breakouts.

Ingredients

Coconut Oil, Meadowfoam Oil, Seabuckthorn Seed Oil, Jojoba Oil, Calendula Extract, Rice Bran Oil, and Chamomile Oil.

Why these ingredients work great for my rosacea-prone skin

Please note that I am a rosacea blogger, not a doctor or skin care expert. This is how I understand the benefits of these ingredients.

Coconut oilCoconut Oil – A gorgeous natural and soothing carrier oil that absorbs into the skin very quickly. Though it can be used on its own as an effective skin moisturizer, it combines wonderfully with other ingredients as well. It offers an effective protective barrier for the skin while it helps to reduce protein and moisture loss. (Personal note from Rosy JulieBC – coconut oil on its own causes my skin to flare and break out. This formula does not do that to me)

Meadowfoam - Rosy JulieBCMeadowfoam Oil – Meadowfoam is a tiny little winter-spring annual flower. This carrier oil is luxuriously moisturizing and has a range of healing, rejuvenating and soothing properties. It absorbs into skin quite easily, leaving behind a smooth and silky feeling. It is perfect for protecting skin against the elements without being too heavy or feeling greasy. Great for preventing flaking and scaling in harsh winter weather.

Seabuckthorn - Rosy JulieBC

Seabuckthorn Seed Oil – These astounding berries contain huge amounts of vitamin C, vitamin E, unsaturated fatty acids (including the rare Omega-7), beta carotene, and essential amino acids. The seed oil is absolutely precious in skin care for moisturizing, healing, calming and relieving inflamed skin. It has a slightly slower absorption rate than coconut oil, so give it a few minutes to absorb before applying makeup or lying on your pillow. (Personal note from Rosy JulieBC – unlike seabuckthorn fruit oil, seabuckthorn seed oil does not dye my very pale skin orange)

Jojoba Oil - Rosy JulieBCJojoba Oil – This oil is incredible for skin care because it is very close to the the skin’s natural sebum.  This makes it a wonderful moisturizer for even the most sensitive and reactive skin.  It is a very soft feeling oil that absorbs very easily, leaving a satiny feel behind that acts as a protective barrier against environmental exposure and damage.

Calendula - Rosy JulieBCCalendula Extract -This extract infuses into the carrier oils of Rosy Days to provide both soothing and softening properties to the skin. It is a luxurious support ingredient to enjoy even more anti-inflammatory and anti-redness benefits than would be provided by the other ingredients alone. This is a natural skin care favourite for overcoming skin inflammation, irritation and discomfort.

Rice Bran Oil - Rosy JulieBCRice Bran Oil – This oil is high in fatty acids, making it a great moisturizer and protective barrier for the skin.  In fact, it’s even more effective than vitamin E. As a very mild oil, it is a top choice for sensitive and reactive skin while also being a preferred ingredient for high quality skin care products for mature skin and even delicate baby skin. It helps to keep skin soft and smooth.

Chamomile - Rosy JulieBC

Chamomile Oil -This cute little flower has the look of a daisy and the soothing powers of the sandman! It has been used in natural medicine and skin care for centuries. It works seamlessly with the other ingredients to reduce redness, inflammation and flaky skin while it calms and soothes – all good things when you’re struggling with rosacea. (Personal note from Rosy JulieBC – this ingredient is a distant relative of the ragweed plant. If you’re allergic to ragweed, there’s a chance you could react to this ingredient, too. To know for sure, simply patch test in an inconspicuous area.)
